Weekend To Do's - The Downtown Edition

Summer weekends in Toronto can cover such a variety of events!
And this weekend is no slouch. So get out, try some new things, and, well, party.

Plenty of places to do that.  Let's start with your Candy Floss and Corn Dog fix. It's ready,
and your dealer is standing right next to the Ferris Wheel!

Folks, the CNE starts off this weekend. I can't wait for it.  Great bands are playing, rides are spinning and everyone is laughing.  Its down at the Ex Grounds, so come'on, Let's Go To The Ex (no, for real, click that link. If you're from T.O. you'll be able to sing along)

Celebrate Yonge begins this weekend, though if you can't make it, no worries, it runs until Sept 16th.  Yonge gets cut down from 4 lanes to 2, (Drivers Beware!) between Queen and Gerrard.  Patios get bigger, bands get louder and everything gets better.

Coming in from the East side? You may want to make your Friday night a little spookier.  There is a new Haunted walk going from The Distillery District to The Hockey Hall of Fame.
Maybe not for everyone, a bit history lesson, a bit ghost story, maybe a bit of fun?

After the ballgame on Saturday, one thing I definitely want to get a look at is the Queen West Music Festival.  Tonnes of local bands playing from all over Toronto, and its headlined by the Skydiggers.  The. Sky. Diggers.  Great band with old roots in town.

And if the bands suck, who cares? Walk a little further up from Trinity Bellwood Park to Ossington. Beautifully made garments by Philip Sparks. And they're having a huge sale.

Take Care this weekend folks, have fun, party hard, August is fading waaaaaay too fast.
